Did the garden survive?

My front-yard garden has been covered up now for the past three days with leaves, straw and black plastic. The temperature is supposed to get into the 50s during the day and near freezing at night; time to reveal what the plants look like…

View of uncovered garden from my front porch.

Everything survived, albeit the plants are a little crushed.

So it looks like everything survived–cilantro, parsley, onions, beets, bok choi, tatsoi, argula, lettuce, lacinto kale, red russian kale, fennel, garlic chives, spinach, italian oregano, rosemary, thyme, mexican oregano and my bay leaf plant. With a little water today, they should be perked up by tomorrow.

  1. Yours looks WAY better than mine! Although I was surprised at how well the apparently frozen-solid lettuce bounced back once the temperature rose above freezing… but, of course; it’s frozen again now. Wo-wo-wo 😦

  2. Yeah, not sure I can speak to how good my garden looks after this morning’s sooner-than-anticipated freezing temperatures. Boo 😦
